Sponsored Field Trips

The High Park Nature Centre’s  Adopt-A-Class programs bring children and youth from schools and groups in Toronto’s underserved, high priority neighbourhoods to High Park to participate in curriculum-linked outdoor programs at no cost to students! 

To apply for a spot in our Nearer-to-Nature or Adopt-a-Class Through the Seasons program please fill out on an online application below. Applications will be reviewed and approved based on neighbourhood catchment area.


Adopt-a-Class Program

Teachers bring their students in for a half day program, morning or afternoon, for a fully subsidized outdoor education experience! Teachers can choose from our entire roster of fall, winter or spring programs to best suit their curriculum. This program is available to grades K-12. Transportation subsidies of up to $75 per class are available, please inquire at the time of booking.

​Adopt-a-Class Through the Seasons Program​

Based off of our High Park Through the Seasons program, teachers can bring their students to the High Park Nature Centre for three outdoor experiential programs throughout the year-once in the fall, once in the winter and once in the spring! This program focuses on conservation and restoration efforts in High Park, to ensure students are learning in and about nature, but also giving back by participating in these efforts themselves. This program is available to grades 3 and above. Transportation subsidies are available, please inquire at the time of booking.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Maximum 30 students per program. Maximum 6 adults (including teachers and adult volunteers).

The High Park Nature Centre offers high quality curriculum-based outdoor environmental education and stewardship programs that:

Our programs are designed to meet objectives in the Ontario Curriculum for Grades KG – 12: Science and Technology.  We also have programs which meet objectives in Mathematics, Social Studies, History and Geography, and Health and Physical Education. Please inquire about any specific curriculum goal or focus you would like emphasized.
