NOTE: Pre-registration is required for all our events, hikes and workshops. We do this to ensure we don’t exceed our capacity for indoor events or the maximum limits for group sizes on High Park’s ecologically sensitive trails. Please register on our website before coming to High Park.

Birds of a Feather with Pete Moss in High Park

Flap on over to the Nature Center for a music-filled birding event with musician and outdoor educator Pete Moss! 

There’s nothing better than starting your morning with a Songs and Stories Circle celebrating local birds through interactive songs. Then, join the Nature Centre team for a nature walk to discover what make High Park an ideal winter home for resident birds like the Northern Cardinal, Black-capped Chickadee and Nuthatch.

Pete Moss

Toronto musician and outdoor educator Pete Moss has been connecting children with nature for over a decade. His albums Plants Rock (2019) and Birds Rock (2021) are a tribute to the magic of plants & birds in your neighbourhood. In partnership with the Nature Centre, he also released The Birds Rock Activity Book, a free resource designed to foster connections between school-aged children and birds in our community! Building upon his work as a forest school instructor and lead program designer at Evergreen Brick Works, Pete's playful, highly participatory programs inspire care and curiosity towards the natural world.

This event will begin at the High Park Nature Centre’s Forest School building located at 375 Colborne Lodge Drive.

A number of changes were made to the travel network within High Park as part of the High Park Movement Strategy that might influence your decision to drive to High Park. In case you’re driving we strongly recommend you to park your car at the public parking lot near Grenadier Cafe.

We continue to recommend using the TTC or biking as the best way to get to High Park and the Nature Centre. The Nature Centre is situated just a 5-minute walk from the High Park Subway Station. In case you were biking, there are bike racks available in front of the Nature Centre.

Please note, High Park is closed to cars on the weekends. If your event is on a weekend, you will need to park outside the park and walk in, or take transit.

General Admission (Seniors, Adults, Children): $15

To help you have an enjoyable experience, please consider bringing the following items:

  • A reusable water bottle (can be refilled at the Nature Centre)
  • Dress in layers to help keep you warm or cool
  • Closed-toe shoes

Hike routes through High Park might include some uneven terrain and mild slopes.

We welcome registered therapy or guide dogs to our events. However, we kindly ask that that family pets be left at home.
