NOTE: Pre-registration is required for all our events, hikes and workshops. We do this to ensure we don’t exceed our capacity for indoor events or the maximum limits for group sizes on High Park’s ecologically sensitive trails. Please register on our website before coming to High Park.
We cannot guarantee availability of walk-in spots. If an event is at capacity, please put yourself on our waitlist. We will notify waitlisted participants if we open up new spots or sessions for our events. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Weedy Wednesdays: Community Stewardship in High Park Details
Weedy Wednesdays is our summer gardening and stewardship program for adults. Each week we will work in OURSpace, our outdoor garden and learning space, or care for one of our stewardship sites in High Park. Activities may include weeding, planting, watering, caring for native Black Oak Savannah plants, and more! Our hope is that you will leave the program feeling more connected to the tall grasses and wildflowers in High Park, to yourself, and to your community!
Note: Weedy Wednesdays is a physically demanding program at times. We may be hiking, carrying tools, bending repeatedly, and sitting/kneeling for extended periods. We will provide knee pads, seats, and gloves to make gardening more comfortable. If you require other accommodations, please let us know.
Cancelation Due to Weather: Weedy Wednesday will be canceled when extreme weather is scheduled. This includes lightening storms, high winds, heavy rain, and poor air quality. Make up sessions will not be scheduled for canceled Weedy Wednesday sessions.
Weedy Wednesdays also takes place on July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13, August 20, September 3, and September 10.

This event will begin at the High Park Nature Centre’s Forest School building located at 375 Colborne Lodge Drive.
A number of changes were made to the travel network within High Park as part of the High Park Movement Strategy that might influence your decision to drive to High Park. In case you’re driving we strongly recommend you to park your car at the public parking lot near Grenadier Cafe.
We continue to recommend using the TTC or biking as the best way to get to High Park and the Nature Centre. The Nature Centre is situated just a 5-minute walk from the High Park Subway Station. In case you were biking, there are bike racks available in front of the Nature Centre.
Please note, High Park is closed to cars on the weekends. If your event is on a weekend, you will need to park outside the park and walk in, or take transit.

This event is for participants 16 years or older.
Hike routes through High Park might include some uneven terrain and mild slopes.
We welcome registered therapy or guide dogs to our events. However, we kindly ask that that family pets be left at home.
Dogs and other pets are not permitted in our programs. However, certified service animals, such as registered therapy or guide dogs, are welcome.
