NOTE: Pre-registration is required for all our events, hikes and workshops. We do this to ensure we don’t exceed our capacity for indoor events or the maximum limits for group sizes on High Park’s ecologically sensitive trails. Please register on our website before coming to High Park.

Beginner-Friendly Visible Garment Mending Workshop Details
Want to repair your garments but not sure where to start? Join the Nature Centre for a beginner-friendly visible mending workshop. You’ll learn the how to repair wear and tear on your garments with patches and beginner-friendly embroidery stitches to extend their life helping to reduce textile waste. Along with new sewing skills, we’ll delve into the environmental impacts of textiles and what choices we can make to be more sustainable.

Garments you’d like to repair
(Optional) Fabric scraps you’d like to use to patch your garment
(Optional) Embroidery Floss
Fabric for patches, embroidery floss, thread, needles, scissors, and tools for visible mending will be provided by the Nature Centre.
Note: Visible mending does what it says on the tin: your repairs will be visible. We’re big fans of visible mending because not only does it extend the life of textiles, but it adds a unique, personalized flair. This event will begin at the High Park Nature Centre’s Forest School Building located at 375 Colborne Lodge Drive.
A number of changes were made to the travel network within High Park as part of the High Park Movement Strategy that might influence your decision to drive to High Park. In case you’re driving we strongly recommend you to park your car at the public parking lot near Grenadier Cafe.
We continue to recommend using the TTC or biking as the best way to get to High Park and the Nature Centre. The Nature Centre is situated just a 5-minute walk from the High Park Subway Station. In case you were biking, there are bike racks available in front of the Nature Centre.
Please note, High Park is closed to cars on the weekends. If your event is on a weekend, you will need to park outside the park and walk in, or take transit.

To help you have an enjoyable experience, please consider bringing the following items:
- A reusable water bottle (can be refilled at the Nature Centre)
- Dress in layers to help keep you warm or cool
- Closed-toe shoes
Dogs and other pets are not permitted in our programs. However, certified service animals, such as registered therapy or guide dogs, are welcome.
The High Park Nature Centre’s Forest School building is not yet an AODA-compliant facility. We try our best to accommodate accessibility needs on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to us about any accessibility-related questions you might have.
