Nature Book Club: May
June 13, 2019 by Kami Valkova

Welcome to Nature Book Club! Here we will share what our book club is reading each month!

Here's a peek at the books we covered in our May book club!

May was our last book club session before we take a break for the summer months, and we chose to focus on works by Indigenous authors from around the world, and other books about Indigenous experiences.

The format for the list is as follows: Book title. Author

Orca Chief. Roy Henry-Vickers and Alfred Bud
Sanaaq. Mitiarjuk Nappaaluk
The Inconvenient Indian. Thomas King
Essay “Walking” from Sisters of the Earth anthology. Linda Hogan
Poem “Fire” from What Moon Drove Me to This? Joy Harjo
The Right to be Cold. Sheila Watt-Cloutier
Ecology of a Cracker Childhood. Janisse Ray*
Moon of the Crusted Snow. Waubgeshig Rice
