Nature Meditation

Today we are going to discuss how to do a nature meditation. First, sit comfortably with your legs crossed, close your eyes, listen to the sounds of whatever is going on, and try to identify what they are. Is it a tree swinging in the wind? A squirrel running over some leaves? A birdsong you haven’t heard before? Try and focus on the sound you have noticed and think about it for a minute, and try to not let your mind wander. Focus on your breath and do deep inhales and exhales.

Mediation can help you focus, stay calm and lower your stress. Sometimes when you are very quiet in High Park you can spot some of nature’s intriguing feathered friends quietly enjoying the view of Grenadier Pond.
