The word of the week is lepidopterology [lep-i-dop-tuh-rol-uh-jee] (noun): the branch of entomology dealing with the study of moths and butterflies.
High Park’s lepidoptera population includes at least 70 species of butterflies and over 1,000 species of moths, making it a great location for budding lepidopterologists. Butterflies and moths are not just beautiful insects but are also important pollinators!
