Current Openings

The volunteer Fundraising Director will serve on the Board of Directors and provide direction, expertise and advice to High Park Nature Centre on various fundraising areas.

Nature Clubs Assistants aid our outdoor educators in delivering various nature education programs to children of different age groups or adult participants in High Park.

Camp Counsellor Assistants will aid our staff camp counsellors in facilitating our nature-based camp programs for children of different age groups in High Park.

Summer Camp Counsellor Assistants will aid our staff counsellors in facilitating our summer nature camps for children of different age groups in High Park.

A minimum commitment of 3 months is required for all positions. With the exception of the Summer Camp Counselor Assistant position, which requires a minimum commitment of 1 full week. The weekly/ bi-weekly time commitment varies per position.

We also require all volunteers 18 years old and older to have a valid police record check within the last year. If candidates do not have a police record check, they can complete one through My Back Check during the application process. Information on the process will be provided during the application process. Volunteers will be asked to pay for the police record check and then will be reimbursed after 10 hours of volunteer work.

Applicants can apply online to posted positions under the volunteer tab on the website. Successful candidates will be asked to attend a mandatory volunteer orientation and training session. Some positions may require reference checks. All individuals 18 years and older will be required to complete a police record check before volunteering.

We require volunteers to be a minimum age of 15 years old.

The other volunteers are wonderful; it's so nice to connect with like minded people. I have also learned about the native plants of the black oak savannah and how unique an ecosystem it is.
Kids Club Assistant
As someone interested in teaching science, volunteering at HPNC inspired me to think about ways we can instill in children a sense of wonder to be channeled into nurturing environmental stewardship.

This year I felt a call to find ways to give something back to the park. A few times a week I came to weed the newly established OURSpace garden, feeling close to Mother Earth, grounded and recharged.
